IPEN is an active partner in Colab, the permaculture international collaborative laboratory which has emerged from the Next Big Step process between IPC’s (International Permaculture Convergences) as one way to make international collaborations in the permaculture world more effective and coherent.
Colab incorporates partners and participants from around the world, and has been using sociocratic principles as an underlying ethos and system in its work and communication systems.
IPEN has been most active in the Digital Circle and the newly formed Translation Circle, and is in the process of considering how it can engage with Colab’s explorations of how to apply the Open Badge system within permaculture, with an initial focus looking at how it could be applied within the iLAND system.
